This 3 day course follows on from Foundation which must be completed first. The days run from 8:45 and we must have all left by 18:00.
The course covers the theoretical topics of the syllabus and there is a constructional project which may be completed at home before sitting the exam held on day 3. Indicative results are available on the day.
You will want to obtain the course book Intermediate – Building on the Foundation which is available from the RSGB shop.
Our next Intermediate Course (No 48)
Will be 17th February, 3rd March and 17th March 2019. We have five places booked already.
Cost and booking
For Intermediate we require a deposit of £42. The total fee for Intermediate, which includes the exam fee of £32.50, is expected to be between £65 and £75. You will also need to purchase a construction project, cost depending on which project you choose.
As a simple guide the kit should have at least one or two active devices (e.g. transistors) or a chip (IC) and some 20-30 soldered joints. Please check with us if not sure. In an ideal world you would start this on day one of the course and show us the finished project, after completion at home, on day two. We need to be sure it is your own work!
You will also need to bring some tools with you, e.g. soldering iron, long nosed pliers, wire cutters, screwdrivers. Advice on this is available before you enrol.
The final fee will be advised about two weeks before the course starts, when we know how many will share the hall hire.
We will settle the exam entry fees with the RSGB.
